my favorite and so so so TRUE.
Line upon line, precept on precept...I'm glad I stumbled across your blog.
i'm so glad someone else thinks this. what a relief.
It also means we can still be wrong about things. And I don't love that.
Elder Sitati in Oct 2009 Conf:"The gospel has gone forth on the earth in a pattern that ensures that God's purpose to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man are fulfilled." WE may be wrong, but the Church is not.
Anonymous/Sitati: every single thing this Church (in it's large, rambling bureaucracy with many lay people running the show) does may not be correct and yet those things may still bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. The Church may be wrong but the Gospel of Jesus Christ never is.
Add on to 1st Anonymous:I miswrote. the PROPHET is never wrong.
The message and the presentation are fantastic, one of the best posts so far. Keep it up!
Awesome! And I feel you TopHat.
I love this post - very well put together, poignant, and comforting. We're all just human making human mistakes. It's to be expected, and it's okay.
"Our Heavenly Father has at different periods in the history of this earth adjusted what he asked of his children because of choices they made" (President Eyring). In my experience, it appears that the overwhelming majority of issues that are brought against the Church (concerning the Church's wrongdoing) derive from a misunderstanding of how this quote from President Eyring corresponds to D&C 88:22-24. Just a thought.
Any of you guys planning to use this one to defend gay marriage?
